Gilroy Road located at 5 mile, across from the old Willow Point Store, was named after the John Gilroy family. John, his wife Flora and their two sons Alan and John Jr. moved from Lanark, Scotland to Willow Point in 1911. They built a house and had an apple orchard at the top of what is now Gilroy Road.
