Access to Up The Lake a long and winding main highway (3a). Between Nelson and 6-mile there are 43 curves! Off this highway there are a number of roads that head up the mountainside. Often the roads lead to benches where the land flattens out and people have settled on them. In the first part of the 1900’s farming and agriculture was predominant on these benches and as the century rolled on little neighbourhoods began to pop up.
